Austin Cox- Final Project Self Portrait

For my Self Portrait for my Final Project, I created a piece of work I call "My World." The bottom is supposed to represent me holding the world on my shoulders. Each continent also represents different aspects of my life that put weight on my shoulders. Some examples are friends, family, school, sports, and money. I painted the cardboard the color of the earth. Then I printed and cut out pictures that represented the different things that put weight on my shoulder. Then I pasted all the photos onto the cardboard to complete my project.

Becky Royal- Self Portrait

My self portrait is a DNA strand (what I am physically made of) made out of pictures of my family and friends on top of a splatter paint, because no matter how random the people and situations are in my life, they all come together to make me who I am.

FINAL PROJECT: Self-portrait, enlarged photograph

ARTIST: Megan Darragh

PIECE TITLE: Who do you see?

The two subjects represented in the photographs are myself, the artist, and my equine companion of several years. I have been riding for nearly 15 years, and horses have always been a part of my life. I chose to photograph solely the eye because I feel that it is a window into the mind and soul of all living creatures, and as a biologist, I recognize how sight and sensory organs take part in relating one species to another.
